Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 July 2026
This policy explains how FlipTally ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use fliptally.co.uk. FlipTally is operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. We take your privacy seriously and collect as little as we can.
What we collect
- If you join the waitlist: your email address, and the part of the site you signed up from.
- If you buy a founding membership: your name and email address. Your card and payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- The tax calculator: the figures you type into the free calculator are processed in your browser to show your result. We do not send those figures to our servers or store them.
How we use it, and our legal basis
- To contact you about early access, launch and your membership. Legal basis: your consent (waitlist) or performance of a contract (membership).
- To take payment and provide the product you paid for. Legal basis: contract.
- To run and secure the website. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in operating the service.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors") to run FlipTally. They only process your data on our instructions:
- Supabase: stores the waitlist (hosted in the EU).
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Stripe: processes payments (a regulated payment provider).
- Cloudflare: provides our domain, DNS and email forwarding.
Cookies
FlipTally does not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. Our payment provider (Stripe) may set cookies that are strictly necessary to process a payment securely on its own checkout page.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist emails until you ask us to remove them or the project ends. We keep membership and payment records for as long as required by UK tax and accounting law. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- ask for a copy in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe).
To exercise any of these, email support@fliptally.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product grows. We'll change the "last updated" date above when we do.
